Wine Hand-Block Printed Cotton Saree with Heart Buttas and Checkerboard Pallu

A wine saree in 100% cotton, hand-block printed by artisans in India. Large off-white heart-shaped buttas, filled with swirls, are spaced across the body and framed by a border of curved wave stripes. The pallu brings several patterns together — a bold checkerboard band, wave borders, wavy lines and dots.

Every motif is pressed by hand with a carved wooden block, so you'll see small variations from print to print — a slight shift in tone, a softened edge. That's the hand at work, not a flaw.

It comes with a blouse piece in plain maroon, edged with the same wave border as the saree, ready to be tailored to your fit.

The colour is rich enough for festive days and family functions, and the cotton keeps it easy through long hours. Oxidised silver or gold-toned jhumkas both sit well with the wine.

Care

• Before the first wash, soak in salt water for a few minutes — no more than 10 — to help set the colour.
• The colour may run. Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, or give it for dry cleaning.
• No bleach. Don't wring. Line dry in shade. Warm iron.
