Slate Grey Hand-Block Printed Cotton Saree with Half-and-Half Body and Paisley Pallu

A slate grey saree in 100% cotton, hand-block printed by artisans in India. The body is printed half-and-half: the upper half carries vertical sky-blue pinstripes scattered with tiny off-white leaf sprigs, and the lower half runs in bold off-white horizontal zigzags. A Greek-key border and a wide zigzag band frame it all. The pallu is a dense paisley jaal — grey paisleys with sky-blue leaves and stars on an off-white ground.

Every motif is pressed by hand with a carved wooden block, so you'll see small variations from print to print — a slight shift in tone, a softened edge. That's the hand at work, not a flaw.

It comes with a blouse piece in slate grey, scattered with small sky-blue motifs and edged with the Greek-key border, ready to be tailored to your fit.

Graphic and modern, it's made for office days and evenings with friends. Oxidised silver keeps it cool.

Care

• Before the first wash, soak in salt water for a few minutes — no more than 10 — to help set the colour.
• The colour may run. Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, or give it for dry cleaning.
