A silver grey saree with a mustard pallu and a mustard temple border, woven on a powerloom in West Bengal. The grey is pale and cool with a soft sheen. The mustard is warm and earthy. Deeper mustard jamdani-style motifs wander across the pallu in zigzag chains, and mustard temple triangles rise along the border. It is 6 metres long, including a running blouse.
Every saree we list is marked handloom or powerloom. This one is powerloom. The mustard motifs are woven by the loom, not inlaid by hand, which is why we call them jamdani-style.
Fabric & Weave
The fabric is sold in the trade as soft Dhakai jamdani. It is light, soft and comfortable through a full day. The style comes from the jamdani tradition of Dhaka. This saree was woven in West Bengal, India.

How to Style It
Grey and mustard is warm without being loud. It suits Navratri and Golu visits, a daytime family function, or an office day when you want a little colour. A mustard blouse carries the pallu through. A rust or deep maroon blouse makes it richer and more festive. Antique gold or brass-toned jewellery suits the mustard. A simple pearl strand keeps it soft.
Care Instructions
Hand wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent, or dry clean. No bleach or harsh chemicals. Wash it separately the first time, so the mustard stays off the grey. Do not wring or twist. Line dry in the shade. Iron on a warm setting, never hot. Store folded in a white cotton cloth in a dry place.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Silver Grey Jamdani-Style Saree handloom?
No. The Silver Grey Jamdani-Style Saree is woven on a powerloom in West Bengal, and the mustard motifs on its pallu are loom-woven rather than inlaid by hand. We mark every saree as handloom or powerloom.
What fabric is this grey and mustard saree?
It is sold in the trade as soft Dhakai jamdani fabric. It is light and soft, with a gentle sheen on the grey body.
Is it a genuine Dhakai jamdani from Bangladesh?
No. The style comes from Dhaka's jamdani tradition, but this saree was woven in West Bengal, India. We call it Dhakai-style to keep that clear.
