A rose pink saree with a white temple border and a striped pink-and-white pallu, woven on a powerloom in West Bengal. The rose pink is full and clear, deeper than a pastel and cooler than coral. Tall white temple triangles line the border. On the pallu, bands of fine pink stripes alternate with pale rows of pink jamdani-style motifs in zigzag chains. It is 6 metres long, including a running blouse.
We name handloom or powerloom on every saree. This one is powerloom. The pink motifs are woven by the loom, not inlaid by hand, and that is why we call them jamdani-style.
Fabric & Weave
The fabric is sold in the trade as soft Dhakai jamdani. It is light and soft, with a gentle sheen on the pink body. The style comes from the jamdani tradition of Dhaka. This saree was woven in West Bengal, India.

How to Style It
Rose pink and white is bright, pretty and easy to wear all day. It suits a temple festival, a school or college function, or a long family lunch, and it makes a lovely gift for a sister-in-law. A magenta blouse deepens it for evening. A parrot green or mint blouse gives the cheerful pink-and-green pairing. Silver jhumkas or a light gold chain keep it fresh.
Care Instructions
Hand wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent, or dry clean. No bleach or harsh chemicals. Wash it on its own the first time, so the pink stays off the white border. Do not wring or twist. Line dry in the shade. Iron on a warm setting, never hot. Store folded in a white cotton cloth in a dry place.
