Red Handloom Linen Saree with Paithani Parrot Pallu

A red handloom linen saree with a Paithani pallu. Small woven buttas in blue, green, yellow and brown are scattered across the red body, and a gold border runs along the edge.

The pallu is where it opens up. Woven in the Paithani style on a ground with a soft tissue sheen, parrots in blue and yellow sit on a dark branch, among leaves and tulip-like flowers. The motifs are woven into the fabric by hand on the loom, not printed, so their edges have the slightly stepped look of a handwoven design. The pallu ends in a knotted fringe with green and yellow tassels.

Linen is light and breathable, and it gets softer with every wash, which makes this an easy saree for long, warm days and festive afternoons alike. It comes with a running blouse piece. Pair it with the running blouse, or pick up a colour from the pallu with a blue, green or yellow blouse.
