A parrot green saree with a white temple border and a pale mint pallu, woven on a powerloom in West Bengal. The green is bright and clear. The pallu cools it down, washed pale and crossed with white jamdani-style motifs in zigzag chains. White temple triangles run the full length of the border. It is 6 metres long, including a running blouse.

Every saree we list says handloom or powerloom. This one is powerloom. The white motifs are woven by the loom, not inlaid by hand, and that is why we call them jamdani-style.

Fabric & Weave

The fabric is sold in the trade as soft Dhakai jamdani. It is light, soft and easy through a long, warm day. The style comes from the jamdani tradition of Dhaka, and this saree was woven in West Bengal, India.

  • Body: plain parrot green
  • Border: white temple triangles on a band of fine white stripes
  • Pallu: pale mint, with fine white stripes and white jamdani-style zigzag motifs
  • Running blouse: included, with the temple border along one edge
  • Size: 6 m × 1.2 m, including the blouse piece. Free size.
  • Woven: on a powerloom in West Bengal, India

How to Style It

Green and white is a fresh, everyday combination. It works for a summer workday, a college event, a housewarming or a morning at the temple. Bring colour in through the blouse. A pink or magenta blouse gives the classic green-and-pink pairing. A block-printed or ikat blouse adds pattern against the plain green. Silver or simple gold jewellery both work. A small bindi and flat kolhapuris keep it easy.

Care Instructions

Hand wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent, or dry clean. No bleach or harsh chemicals. Wash it separately the first time, so the green does not touch the white border. Do not wring or twist. Line dry in the shade to keep the green bright. Iron on a warm setting, never hot. Store folded in a white cotton cloth in a dry place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Parrot Green Jamdani-Style Saree handloom?

No. The Parrot Green Jamdani-Style Saree is woven on a powerloom in West Bengal, and the white motifs on its pallu are loom-woven rather than inlaid by hand. We state handloom or powerloom on every saree.

What fabric is this green and white saree?

It is sold in the trade as soft Dhakai jamdani fabric. It is light and soft, good for warm days.

Is this saree from Dhaka?

No. The jamdani look comes from Dhaka, but this saree was woven in West Bengal, India. We call it Dhakai-style for that reason.

Does the Parrot Green Jamdani-Style Saree include a blouse?

Yes. It has a running blouse, with the temple border along one edge, as part of the 6 metre length.

How big is the saree?

It measures 6 metres by 1.2 metres, including the blouse piece. It is free size.

When can I wear a parrot green saree?

It suits everyday and daytime wear: the office in summer, college events, a housewarming or a morning temple visit.

What blouse looks good with green and white?

A pink or magenta blouse gives the classic green-and-pink look. A block-printed or ikat blouse adds pattern. We would avoid a plain green blouse, as it can make the look flat.

How should I wash this saree?

Hand wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent, or dry clean. Wash it separately the first time, avoid bleach, do not wring, line dry in the shade and iron on a warm setting.

Does the green match the photos?

We photograph every saree as close to its true colour as we can. Lighting and screen settings can make a small difference.

What does shipping cost, and is COD available?

Prepaid orders ship free anywhere in India. Cash on Delivery is available with a ₹150 handling charge. Orders usually leave us within 1 working day and reach metro cities in 2–3 days and other cities in 5–7 days from dispatch.
