Fabric & Weave

Cotton silk blends cotton with silk, so the navy has a soft sheen rather than a flat finish. A geometric woven border in gold-coloured thread, not zari, runs the full length.

The pallu is gold-toned with fine white stripes running across it, framed by wide gold bands at either end. It finishes in navy and gold tassels.

Size

6.24 m long, including a 90 cm gold-toned running blouse with a woven border, attached to the saree. 1.2 m wide and about 500 g. Free size.

How to Style It

Navy and gold feels rich without being loud. The attached gold blouse makes it festive, right for Navratri evenings and family functions. A maroon or mustard blouse brings in temple colours, and a printed ikat blouse turns it into something you can wear to the office. Antique gold jhumkas finish it.

Care

Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, since dark colours can bleed. No bleach and no wringing. Line dry in the shade to keep the navy deep, and iron on warm.
