How to tell handloom from powerloom yourself: handloom fabric carries small irregularities — a slightly uneven thread count, a selvedge that isn't perfectly straight, tiny knots where the weaver joined a thread. Powerloom cloth is machine-regular and consistent edge to edge. Neither is a fault. They are simply different things, and you deserve to know which one you're buying.

Fabric and drape

Khadi-weave cotton, light and breathable, with a slightly textured surface rather than a flat mill finish. It drapes softly, pleats without stiffness, and stays comfortable through a full South Indian afternoon. Like all cotton, it gets softer with every wash.

How to style it

A light green body with a pink pallu is already a contrast pairing, so it does not need much beside it.

Line dry in the shade — direct sun fades cotton faster. Warm iron only. Store in a dry place wrapped in white cotton cloth. Small knots in cotton are natural, not a defect. Cared for this way, the saree will last 7 to 10 years.
