A handwoven mul cotton saree in slate grey, with fine gold zari stripes running the length of the body and a scalloped gold border worked along the edge — not only at the ends, but right through.
Grey is an underrated saree colour. It does not compete with your jewellery, it does not date, and it takes almost any blouse you put against it. The zari catches light in a quiet way, which is what makes this one work as easily at a morning function as it does at a desk.

How To Style It
Grey is a neutral, so the blouse can do the talking. Mustard or deep rust warms it up. Wine, bottle green or a deep teal give it weight for an evening. Black keeps it severe and elegant for work.
The zari is gold, so gold or antique-finish jewellery sits more naturally here than oxidised silver. Pearls work beautifully against grey if you want something softer.
Suited to office wear, temple visits, morning functions and Varamahalakshmi or Ugadi. Cotton stays comfortable through a long South Indian day.

See It Before You Buy
Grey is one of the hardest colours to judge from a photograph — screens push it warm or cool depending on the device. If you want to see the real shade, call or WhatsApp us on 7353931190 and we will show you this saree live on a video call, in daylight.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this saree handloom?
Yes, this grey mul cotton saree is handloom. Parts of our affordable range are powerloom and we label those as powerloom — we do not use the word handloom loosely.
How is mul cotton different from ordinary cotton?
Mul, or mulmul, is spun and woven finer than regular cotton. The result is lighter, airier and softer against the skin, with a drape that falls close to the body rather than standing away from it.
Are the stripes woven in or printed?
Woven. The gold zari stripes run through the fabric itself, so they will not lift or crack the way a printed line eventually does.
Where does the scalloped border run?
Along the length of the saree, not just at the ends. You will see the scallop detail wherever the edge falls in your drape.
What is the length and width?
5.5 metres long and 1.15 metres wide.
Is a blouse piece included?
No. Mul cotton is a very delicate fabric, so we do not attach a blouse piece to it. You will need to source your blouse fabric separately.
How should I wash this saree?
Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not wring or twist it. Line dry in the shade and iron on a warm setting only — a hot iron will dull the zari.
Will the zari tarnish?
Metallic thread can dull over time, particularly in humid conditions or if the saree is stored in plastic. Wrapping it in white cotton cloth and keeping it somewhere dry is the single best thing you can do for it.
What blouse colour should I choose for a grey saree?
Grey takes almost anything. Mustard and rust warm it, wine and bottle green deepen it, and black makes it look sharp and formal. If you prefer tonal, a slightly darker charcoal blouse looks considered rather than plain.
Can I see the actual saree before ordering?
Yes. Message or call 7353931190 and we will video call you and show you this exact piece in daylight. Grey especially is worth seeing properly before you decide.
What are the shipping charges?
Free on all prepaid orders within India. Cash on Delivery is available with a ₹150 shipping and cash-handling charge. We usually dispatch within one working day.
What is your return policy?
5 days from delivery to request a return, with an unedited parcel-opening video from start to finish. Exchanges within 3 days. We have no pickup facility, so return shipping is arranged at your end.
Note: slight colour variation may occur due to camera settings and lighting. Returns and exchanges are not accepted for such variations — which is exactly why we offer the video call.
