Fabric & Weave

Cotton silk blends cotton with silk, which gives the green body a soft sheen. All the gold on it is woven in gold-coloured thread, not zari.

The border is woven in gold-coloured thread, with motifs along its length, and edged in dark brown. On the pallu, thin gold-coloured stripes cross the red and lead into a wide gold band, then a green band lined in red and gold. It finishes in black and gold tassels.

Size

6.24 m in length, including a 90 cm red running blouse attached to the saree. 1.2 m wide and about 500 g. Free size.

How to Style It

Green with red and gold is a classic festive pairing. The attached red blouse carries the pallu colour up to the shoulder. A green blouse keeps the drape in one tone and saves the red for the pallu. Gold or antique-finish temple jewellery picks up the woven gold.

Care

Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, since reds can bleed. No bleach and no wringing. Dry in the shade and iron on warm.
