An olive green Maheshwari-style cotton silk saree with a gold striped pallu framed in black, and a gold-toned blouse, woven on a powerloom. The olive green body stays plain, and the pallu brings in gold and black for contrast. It's inspired by the Maheshwari weave rather than woven in Maheshwar, and we'd like you to hear that from us first.

Fabric & Weave

Cotton silk blends cotton with silk, so the olive green has a soft sheen rather than a flat finish. A geometric woven border in gold-coloured thread, not zari, runs the full length, with a darker green edge along the outside.

The pallu is gold-toned with fine white stripes across it. On either side sits a wide black band, then a gold band, before the olive green returns at the very end. It finishes in black and gold tassels.

Size

6.24 m long, including a 90 cm gold-toned running blouse with a woven border, attached to the saree. 1.2 m wide and about 500 g. Free size.

How to Style It

Olive green and gold is a festive pairing that never feels heavy. The attached gold blouse suits Navratri, Golu visits and family functions. A pink blouse gives it the classic green-and-pink contrast, and a black blouse picks up the pallu bands for a sharper look. Antique gold jhumkas or a temple necklace finish it.

Care

Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, since the colour can bleed. No bleach and no wringing. Line dry in the shade to keep the colour even, and iron on warm.
