Fabric & Weave

This saree is handwoven in viscose cotton. Viscose is a semi-synthetic fibre, so this isn't a pure cotton saree, and we'd rather you knew.

The body is a plain, solid deep purple, with no streaks running through it. There's no zari. Every motif is woven in white and beige thread.

The pallu carries wide bands of white and beige woven stripes, with small buttas between them. At its centre is an hourglass of two woven triangles, one white and one beige. The pallu finishes in tassels that follow the colours of the weave: pink where the border ends, and black across the rest.

Small irregularities come from the handloom, not from faults.

6.4 m long, including a running blouse, and 1.4 m wide. Free size.
