Fabric & Weave

This saree is handwoven in viscose cotton. Viscose is a semi-synthetic fibre, so this isn't a pure cotton saree, and we'd rather you knew.

The body is a plain, solid deep maroon, with no streaks running through it. There's no zari. It's all thread work, and every motif is woven in white and cream.

The pallu carries wide bands of white and cream woven stripes, with small buttas between them. At its centre is an hourglass of two woven triangles, one white and one cream. The pallu finishes in tassels that follow the colours of the weave: dark pink where the border ends, and black across the rest.

Small irregularities come from the handloom, not from faults.
