Fabric & Weave

Cotton silk is cotton blended with silk, which gives the dark green body a quiet sheen. The gold throughout is woven in gold-coloured thread, not zari.

The woven border carries gold-coloured motifs and is edged in dark brown. On the orange pallu, fine gold-coloured stripes lead into a wide gold band and a dark green end panel lined in gold, finished with black and gold tassels.

Size

6.24 m long, including a 90 cm orange running blouse attached to the saree. 1.2 m wide and about 500 g. Free size.

How to Style It

Dark green and orange is a rich, warm contrast. The attached orange blouse repeats the pallu. A dark green blouse keeps the look deeper, with the orange falling only over the shoulder. Antique-finish gold jewellery sits well with the woven gold.

Care

Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, since dark greens and oranges can run. No bleach, no wringing. Line dry in the shade and use a warm iron.
