Bright yellow handloom linen, one clear colour from the first pleat to the end of the pallu. A fine silver zari border runs the full length, and the pallu closes with a band of yellow and white stripes and a row of yellow and white tassels.

The embroidery sits on the pallu drape, where it falls across the shoulder and is actually seen. Magenta star flowers worked in looped thread, small four-petal blooms in red and pink, lilac buds, sage-green vines travelling between them, and tiny white knots holding the whole thing together. It is stitched by hand, one flower at a time. That is why the spacing is never quite the same twice โ€” and why I would rather you saw it up close before you decide.

How to wear it

Yellow this clear is a festive colour before it is anything else. It belongs to haldi mornings, Varamahalakshmi, Ugadi, a temple visit, a family lunch that runs long.

Because the body is a single colour, the blouse decides the mood. Gold or antique-finish tissue keeps it soft and lets the embroidery lead. For contrast, go deeper โ€” maroon, wine or a dark olive sets bright yellow off well without competing with the pallu. Pearls suit linen. So does one good pair of jhumkas and nothing more.

Linen breathes, which is the practical argument for it in a South Indian summer. This one sits lightly for a full day.

Care

Dry clean only. Store in a dry place, wrapped in white cotton cloth, away from direct sunlight. Warm iron if it needs it โ€” never hot.

See it before you buy it

Bright yellows photograph differently on every screen. If you want to see this one in daylight before you decide, message us on WhatsApp at 7353931190 and we will get on a video call and show you the fabric, the zari border and the embroidery close up. There is no obligation to buy.

Questions buyers ask

Is this saree handloom or powerloom?

This one is handloom. The Bright Yellow Handloom Linen Saree is woven on a handloom in India, and the embroidery on the pallu is worked by hand. We do also stock powerloom sarees in our affordable range, and we say so on those listings โ€” we do not label powerloom as handloom.

Is the embroidery machine-made or done by hand?

It is hand embroidery. Each flower on the pallu is stitched individually, which is why the motifs are not spaced identically across the drape. Small irregularities are the mark of hand work, not a flaw.

What fabric is this saree made of?

Handloom linen. Linen is breathable and holds a crisp drape, which makes it comfortable for long daytime functions in warm weather.

Does it come with a blouse piece?

Yes. A running blouse piece is attached to the Bright Yellow Handloom Linen Saree. It will need to be stitched to your measurements by your own tailor.

How long is the saree?

6.4 metres, including the attached running blouse piece. Sarees are free size.

How do I wash this saree?

Please do not wash it. This saree is dry clean only. Linen with hand embroidery does not take well to home washing โ€” the thread work and the zari are what you are protecting.

How should I store it between wears?

Fold it and keep it in a dry place, wrapped in white cotton cloth, away from direct sunlight. Long stretches in sunlight are hard on any dyed fabric.

Can I see the saree before I buy it?

Yes, and we would encourage it. Message us on WhatsApp at 7353931190 and we will arrange a video call to show you the fabric, the border and the embroidery in daylight. There is no obligation to buy afterwards.

What blouse colour goes with a bright yellow saree?

Gold or antique-finish tissue keeps it tonal and lets the embroidery lead. Maroon, wine or dark olive give you contrast. Because the body is a single colour, a printed or ikat blouse also works well here.

Is this suitable for a haldi function?

It suits one well. Bright yellow is the traditional haldi colour, and linen is light enough to wear through a long morning. It also works for Varamahalakshmi, Ugadi, temple visits and daytime family functions.

Is linen comfortable to wear all day?

Yes. Linen is breathable and sweat-absorbent, which is why we recommend it for all-day occasions rather than heavier silks. It creases as you wear it โ€” that is the nature of linen, not a defect.

What are the shipping and return terms?

Shipping is free on prepaid orders anywhere in India. Cash on delivery is available with a โ‚น150 cash-handling charge. Orders are usually dispatched within one working day, and reach metro cities in 2โ€“3 days and non-metro cities in 5โ€“7 days. Returns are accepted within 5 days of receipt with an unedited parcel-opening video; exchanges within 3 days. We do not have a pickup facility, so return shipping is arranged at your end.
