Fabric & Weave

Cotton silk is cotton blended with silk, which gives the dark green a quiet sheen. Small diamond-shaped buttas are woven across it in gold-coloured thread, not zari.

A wide diamond-weave border in gold-coloured thread runs the length, with a dark edge. The pallu has a sheer gold band set between fine gold lines, and ends in black and gold tassels.

Size

6.24 m long, including a 90 cm dark green running blouse attached to the saree. 1.2 m wide and about 500 g. Free size.

How to Style It

Dark green is deep enough for the office and rich enough for an evening. The attached green blouse keeps it understated. For contrast, a pink blouse is the classic partner, and mustard or maroon warms it up. Antique gold earrings suit the border.
