A blue modal silk saree, hand-block printed in Ajrakh in Kutch, Gujarat. The body is a dense mosaic jaal of stars, flowers and checks in red, blue and off-white. The pallu breaks into bold bands: off-white leaf buttas on blue, alternating with red and black zigzag waves, each framed by medallion borders. It ends in a red panel of blue cone motifs, finished with red and navy tassels. The running blouse is blue with leaf buttas and a black edge.

It is authentic modal silk. It's light and flowy, and comfortable enough to wear all day.

The Print

Mosaic, leaves, zigzags: every part of this saree was printed by hand with carved wooden blocks in Kutch. Each leaf carries its own pattern of lines and dots, and no two come out quite the same. That is the hand at work. We source it directly from the artisans who print it.

The Fabric

Modal silk has a soft sheen and a fluid drape. It's lighter than a heavy silk and breathes better, so it folds small into a suitcase and stays comfortable through a long day of travel and celebrating.

The Running Blouse

The 6 metres include a running blouse in blue with leaf buttas, ready to cut and take to your tailor.

How to Style It

The zigzag pallu has plenty of movement, so keep the rest calm with one statement piece of jewellery. It's made for the trips that come with celebrations: a family wedding out of town, a temple visit on the way, a festival spent with relatives.

Care

Hand wash gently at home in cold water with a mild detergent, or dry clean. Don't wring or twist. Dry in the shade.
