Fabric & Weave

Cotton silk is cotton blended with silk, which gives the black body a soft glow. Small flower buttas are scattered across it, woven in gold-coloured thread, not zari.

The border is woven in gold-coloured thread in a fine lattice. The red pallu carries larger, bolder flower buttas and meets the body at a gold band lined in red, finished with black and gold tassels.

Size

6.24 m long, including a 90 cm red running blouse attached to the saree, with flower buttas on it too. 1.2 m wide and about 500 g. Free size.

How to Style It

Black with small gold buttas reads elegant and evening-ready, and the red pallu gives it warmth. The attached red blouse repeats the pallu. A black blouse makes the red pallu the one bright moment. Gold jhumkas or a temple-style necklace suit the buttas.

Care

Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, since black and red can run. No bleach and no wringing. Line dry in the shade and iron on warm.
