Fabric & Weave

This saree is woven on a handloom in viscose cotton. Viscose is a semi-synthetic fibre made from wood pulp, so this is not a pure cotton saree.

Fine white streaks run through the black body, but it isn't an ikat. The pallu carries horizontal bands of red and white woven motifs and ends in tassels.

Small irregularities in the weave are part of how a handloom saree is made, not flaws.

How to Style It
