Black handloom viscose cotton, dotted with small beige buttas and framed by a pink border. A fine pale stripe runs along the inside edge of the border.
Fabric & Weave
This saree is woven on a handloom in viscose cotton, a blend of cotton and viscose. Viscose is a semi-synthetic fibre, so this is not pure cotton, and we'd rather say so.
The buttas are woven in beige thread, not zari. The pallu carries bands of beige and white woven stripes around a large hourglass motif, and finishes in black and pink tassels.
Small irregularities are part of the handloom, not faults.
Size
6.4 m long, including a running blouse, and 1.4 m wide. Free size.
How to Style It
A pink blouse carries the border up and keeps the look together. For contrast, try a pastel blouse. Let handmade jewellery be your one statement piece.
Care
Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. No bleach. Wash darks separately, don't wring, line dry in shade, and use a warm iron.
